No, in most cases that isn't necessary. Fresh stains can often be removed with just a clean cloth and a little water. Gently blot the affected area instead of rubbing it. For more stubborn stains, we recommend our Livom care products, such as the fabric cleaner or foam cleaner. If a more thorough cleaning is needed, you can simply remove the affected cover and wash it at 30 °C on the gentle cycle.

In general, all Livom fabrics are suitable for households with pets. Our covers are durable, easy to care for, removable, and washable. Pet hair can usually be easily removed with a lint roller or a damp cloth. If a cover ever gets damaged or heavily soiled, you can reorder and replace it individually.

Remove the covers from the sofa and sort them by color if necessary. Close or cover any Velcro fasteners so they don’t snag on the fabric. Turn the covers inside out, place them in the washing machine, add a suitable detergent, and select a gentle cycle at 30 °C with the lowest possible spin speed. After washing, shake out the covers and let them air dry. Please do not tumble dry, bleach, or iron them.

For added protection, we recommend using a laundry bag.

You can use powder detergent, delicates detergent, liquid detergent, or laundry sheets. To preserve the quality of the fabric, you should not use fabric softener or bleach.

To prevent marks and scratches, we recommend using protective glides or felt pads under the sofa legs. You can find these at most hardware stores, and you should replace them over time once they become worn out. Sofas with wooden legs come with felt pads already attached.
